Alice Mildred (Foster) Kolsky

Alice Mildred (Foster) Kolsky, 92, a resident of Sunporch Nursing Home of Dodge City, shortly before 9:00 am October 7, 2020 slipped peacefully into the Loving Arms of her Savior.

She was born November 2, 1927, in Dresden KS, the youngest of seven children of Elfred and Bessie (Boardman) Foster. Alice was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church. She attended school in Dresden KS until the school closed, graduating from high school at nearby Jennings KS in 1946 in August of the same year she was married. She lived and worked in Oberlin KS for several years. Alice moved to Dodge City with her children in 1965. There she started to work at High Plains Journal and remained there for the next 25 years until her retirement.

She loved to dance the “Jitter Bug” of which she was quite proficient. She enjoyed years of bowling and horseshoes and has many trophies to show for it! She was always keeping busy, participated in many activities at the Senior Center such as line dancing and wood carving.

Her Pride and Joy was her family!

Survivors are daughter Paula Herd of St. George Utah, son Charles and (Jean) Kolsky of Dodge City KS, son Robert Kolsky of Dodge City KS, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers and three sisters and a great granddaughter.

Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Dresden Cemetery, Dresden, Kansas where she will be jointed with her past loved ones. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
