
Virginia Beamer, 82, of Oakley, died Monday, December 14, 2020, at Logan County Hospital.
She was born November 24, 1938, in Monument KS, to
Belle and Martin Selley. She graduated from Oakley High School in 1956.
On October 14, 1956, she married Charles Beamer. Virginia was a member
of the United Christian Church in Oakley. Virginia had served as Clerk
of the District Court in Logan County, was the first female County
Commissioner in Logan County, and was a Kansas State Representative.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Martin Wells, Robert, and Lowell.
She is survived by her husband, Charles, of Oakley; children, Alexis
Basgall, of Herndon, KS, Gaylene Langley, of Evergreen, CO, and Charlyn
Smith, of Colorado Springs, CO; 9 grandchildren and 5 great
grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17th, 2020 at the
United Christian Church, Oakley. Funeral Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday,
December 18, 2020, also at the church with burial in the Oakley City
