Women Who Lead
The Women Who Lead has awarded eight $1,000 scholarships to women for the 2026-27 school year.
Students had to be Ellis County residents and attend Fort Hays State University, Fort Hays Tech North Central or Hays Academy of Hair Design.
The Women Who Lead is a nonprofit in Ellis County that aims to inspire and empower women in the community.
The nonprofit sells raffle tickets in June and July for an August drawing to fund its scholarship program. All proceeds from that 2025 fundraising campaign went directly to scholarships this year.
Raffle tickets to support the 2027-28 scholarship program will be on sale soon.
The 2026-27 scholarship winners are as follows:
Kinzie Sunley of Ellis High School plans to attend FHSU to study elementary education.
Alyssa Church of Thomas More Prep-Marina plans to attend FHSU to study elementary education.
Aubrey Gill, a returning FHSU student, is studying marketing.
Erin Ruder of Hays High School plans to attend FHSU to study pre-medicine.
Reghan Byer, TMP, plans to attend FHSU to study nursing.
Gracie Ball, EHS, plans to attend Fort Hays Tech North Central to study nursing.
Norah Bradstreet, a returning FHSU student, is studying sociology and criminal justice.
Maycie Holdeman, a returning FHSU student, is studying communication sciences and disorders.
