Downtown Hays Development Corporation is saddened to announce the cancelation of the Brews on The Bricks Craft Beer Festival.
Each year, DHDC strives to create an event that allows ticket holders to connect with brewers from all over the Midwest and showcase local craft beer. Unfortunately, DHDC does not feel we can maintain our event's core purpose while also encouraging safety due to COVID-19.
“DHDC loves being able to support local breweries, and we are already making next year a fantastic event," Allie Glidewell, DHDC director of events and operations, said. “Though we are unable to host Brews this year, we are looking forward to having you back in Downtown Hays on May 1, 2021, for the sixth-annual event!”
Until then, DHDC is looking for creative and meaningful ways to encourage current 2020 ticket holders to forego a refund. DHDC is a 501(c)3 that relies heavily on proceeds from this event to exist. Current ticket holders who choose to not receive a refund will be sent an ex-clusive 2020 swag bag.

“We understand that you might choose a refund over a unique swag bag,” Sara Bloom, DHDC executive director, said. “We hope you consider all the good we do for the community not only through events but also through development projects, business recruitment and more, and consider donating the cost of your ticket, at least in part, to DHDC. As a non-profit, your gift would be tax-deductible.”
If you would like a full or partial refund, the deadline for requests is 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 31,2020. Current ticket holders can call the DHDC office at 785-621-4171 or email [email protected] to begin the refund process. If you choose not to get a refund, your swag will be sent Sept. 1.
DHDC would like to thank the community for their support of this event. We would also like to thank event committee members who have spent hours organizing, sponsors for their generosity, and our local breweries Lb. Brewing Co. and Defiance Brewing for making this possible the last five years.
