Virginia Lea (Owen) Olberding (91) passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024 at Downs Care & Rehab in Downs, KS.
Virginia was born on March 5, 1933, to Archibald & Alma (Parker) Owen in Colby, KS.
Virginia was many things to many people - mom, wife, sister, grammy, aunt, baker, quilter, gardener, friend…whatever she was to the people in her life, she was your biggest supporter. Virginia worked side by side with her biggest fan, Merlin, running V & M Distributing in Colby. Moving to Cawker City, KS, in 1991 to live out the rest of their lives, in the perfect location, halfway between all the kids and grandkids.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Merlin Olberding, her parents Archibald & Alma (Parker) Owen, brothers Conrad Owen and Owen Owen, sister Lora Ann (Owen) Highberg, father and mother-in-law CB & Rachel Olberding and son-in-Law Kent Beisner
Virginia is survived by her daughters Linda (Olberding) & Dan Boswell, Ogallala, NE; Diana (Olberding) Beisner, Lawrence, KS; Sandra (Olberding) & Harry Prall, Lawrence, KS; grandchildren Matthew & Kellie Farmer, Houston, TX; Chandra (Farmer) & Brett Doane, Downs, KS; Kyle & Jodie Beisner, Beloit, KS; Keith & Kim Beisner, Albuquerque, NM; Elizabeth (Beisner) & Nick Jerkovich, Leawood, KS; great-grandchildren Madison (Nichol) & Alex Renken, Gorham, KS; Krina Doane, Downs, KS; Bryce Beisner & Allison Beisner, Beloit, KS; Jacob & Jordan Farmer, Houston, TX; Ethan Beisner, Albuquerque, NM and Evan Jerkovich, Leawood, KS.
The family will have a private service at a later date.
