After finishing 21-1 and earning a third-place finish at the 2-1A state baseball tournament last week, the Ellis Railroaders had four players named to the Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches All-State Team.
Tegan Cain was named Player of the Year in 2-1A and was named to the first-team as a pitcher.
Cain finished his senior campaign with a record of 9-0 and an ERA of 0.30. In his 52.2 innings pitch he struck out 109 and allowed just five runs, two of them earned, on 11 hits with 16 walks.
Cain also hit .569 on the year.
Tyson Jimenez was named to the second-team as a pitch and was joined on the team by designated hitter Jaryn Wildeman and Easton Burton. Burton was honored as a utility player.
Jimenez finished the year 8-2 with a 1.99 ERA.
Ellis coach Brent Cain was also named the 2-1A Coach of the Year.
Tegan Cain has also been selected to take part in the 2021 KABC Allstar game June 9th at Hoglund Park in Lawrence.
Brent Cain will also coach the Blue team.
