Roberta June Keil, 92, died December 13, 2021, at Country Place Senior Living, Hoisington, Kansas.  She was born December 13, 1929, in El Dorado, Kansas, the daughter of  Hiram R. and Dilla M. (Mulvaney) Ramsey. She had one sister, Allene and two brothers, Francis and Maurice. The family moved to Russell, Kansas, when Roberta was in the 3rd grade. They then moved to Great Bend, Kansas, where she continued in her elementary grades through high school years. She graduated from Great Bend High School and went on to attend one year at Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma. 

Roberta married Leland B. Keil on September 8, 1950, at the First Christian Church in Great Bend. They lived in Russell and Great Bend before moving to the Keil family farm where they lived until 1977 at which time they moved to Galatia, Kansas.

She worked for 35 years as a bookkeeper and office manager. Twenty of those years she spent as a bookkeeper was at the Galatia CO-OP.

Roberta was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Great Bend. She was active for many years in the Central Kansas Threadbenders Quilt Guild and was an avid quilter who made many beautiful quilts over the years for her family and friends.  She enjoyed showing her quilts to anyone who visited her home.

She is survived by five children; Michael Keil and wife Barb of Topeka, Barb Menninga and husband Leroy of Wichita, David Keil and wife Rebecca of Galatia, Becky Money and husband Andy of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Kristy Scheck and husband Lloyd of Great Bend; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leland B. Keil, and her two brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 17, 2021, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Great Bend, Kansas, with Pastor Adam Wutka presiding.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galatia, Kansas.
