Barbara Ann Bland, 86, passed away March 4, 2021 at the University of Kansas Health Systems Pawnee Valley Campus.
She was born March 23, 1934 in Larned, the daughter of Charles and Elsie Evans Buckman.
A lifetime area resident she was a secretary for Larned State Hospital and later for Ft Larned School District. She was a member of Larned United Methodist Church, served on the Methodist Church Budget Shop Committee, served on the Jordan Memorial Library Board and the Larned Zoning Board; and volunteered with the Red Cross Blood Mobile and Prairie Land Foods; helped out on movie nights and was a member of a weekly mah-jong group.
On March 15, 1959 she married Richard Bland in Larned; he preceded her in death August 12, 1995.
Survivors include: a son, Douglas (Deb) Bland, Chesapeake City, Maryland; two nephews, John Buckman, Yukon, Oklahoma, Chris (Julee) Buckman, Conway Springs; and two nieces, Mary (Jerry Sherwood) Fort Worth, Texas, and Beth (Jan) Skelton, Perry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Jeffrey Bland; a brother, Robert Buckman and his wife Cleo Buckman.
Graveside funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2021 at Larned Cemetery with Pastor Tricia North presiding. Service will be viewable via Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned with family present from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
