Roy Jeffery “Jeff” Bell was born in Smith Center, Kansas on December 4,
1956, to Roy Dean and Sharon (Bose) Bell and passed away November 10,
2020. He lived on the Bell family farm near Gaylord, Kansas most of his
life.
Jeff graduated from Smith Center High School in 1975. While in high
school, Jeff partnered with his dad to start a registered duroc hog
business. He enjoyed raising durocs and showing them at various county
and state fairs. Later in his life he returned to this passion as he
raised and showed pigs along with his friends at Godsey Showpigs. Jeff
also enjoyed farming and worked on several farms in Smith County before
returning to the family farm where he retired in 2019.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Bell; grandparents,
Emil and Esther Bose; Roy M. and Mary Bell; and great niece, Makinna
Butler.
Left to cherish his memory are his Dad, Roy Dean Bell; his son,
Hunter Bell; sisters Luann Jones and husband Earl, Kerri Garman and
husband Tim; brother, Robin Bell; nieces, Erin Jones, Erica Butler and
husband Vince; nephew Andrew Jones and great nephews and niece Tre’,
Kobe and Makessa Butler. He also enjoyed close friendships with Kena
Stroup, the Darin Godsey family and Pastor Rod Rose.
