Tiger Debs place second in Jazz Category at Dance Team Union Regional

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time in program history, the Fort Hays State University Tiger Debs Dance Team participated in an official regional competition. They competed in the Dance Team Union Regional held in Kansas City on Saturday, January 10. The Tiger Debs placed second in the College Jazz Category.

The team met their point goal from each judge and had a score of 85.4 out of 100. Tiger Debs coach Annika Carter-Powell said "we are thrilled to continue to grow the program and compete at future regional and national competitions." The team currently consists of nine individuals.

The team is hopeful to compete in a virtual national competition this coming March and has future plans of competing in regional and national competitions in 2027.
