Rolling Plains Speedway made the following statement today on Facebook.
Good morning yall! I have held out as long as I could, without holding folks hostage hoping that the professionals would miss on the forecast and praying that travelers weren’t entrenched in what they were predicting.
Although so far we haven’t gotten as much as predicted rain wise….. we still have to look at the 2+ inches of rain they are predicting the next 48 hours.
Taking into account this type of show requires travelers near and far to be a success and needs all three days of the event for the track to succeed.
It’s just too costly to the race teams to pull 10 miles or 1000 miles to take a chance.
With that said, we have no option other than pulling the plug on this weekends event.
We are working with all involved, KLS Promotions, 51Wpromotions, Ellis County, track employees and racers to see if we could potentially find another raceable date! Stay tuned
