Glenn J. Leiker, 84, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at the Hays Good Samaritan Society where he had been a resident since May 2021.
Glenn was born January 27, 1942 to Edward S. Leiker and Philippa (Pfannenstiel) Leiker. He attended Hays public elementary schools, followed by three years at St. Francis Seminary in Victoria, Kansas. He graduated from St. Joseph’s Military Academy in 1960. Glenn attended Fort Hays State University before joining the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged on May 31, 1967. After returning from the Army, Glenn was employed by Farmers Co-op in Hays for most of his working career. He was also employed by Yuasa-Exide for a short time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Norman, Eldon, and Tom and sister-in-law Sue. He is survived by his sister Doris (Dave) Wing and brother Tearon Leiker, both of Hays, sister-in-law Anneliese Leiker of Lubbock, TX, nephews Martin Leiker of Lubbock, TX, Matthew Leiker of Charlotte, NC, Shaun Leiker of Sacramento, CA, Ben Wing of Hays, and Jon Wing of Crawfordsville, IN.
Glenn has been cremated and there will be no services per his wishes. Memorials in his honor may be made payable to Good Samaritan in Hays. Cremation is in the care of Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and condolences and memories of Glenn may be shared with his family at www.haysmemorial.com.
