Ryan Karl Haney, 37, died November 1, 2020, with his wife and children at his side, in Marquette, Kansas. He was born February 14, 1983, in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Trey Clem, III and Jeanette Shafer.

Ryan graduated from Winfield High School and then received his Associate Degree from Coffeyville Junior College and Cowley County College.

Ryan worked for Mid Kansas CO-OP in Marquette. Ryan was active in Boy Scouts all his life and attained the rank of Life Scout. He was also a member of the Great Bend Young Professionals. He loved spending time with family, especially taking his children to the zoo and teaching them life skills at the river. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish, camp, play paint ball and ride sports bikes, and was a hard core gamer.

On August 18, 2012, he married Jesse LeeAnn Trahan, at First Southern Baptist Church, Great Bend, Kansas

He is survived by his wife Jesse Haney; a son, Colt Reed Haney, and a daughter, Raya Elaina Haney, all of the home; parents, Rod and Jeanette Haney of Winfield, and Trey and Susan Clem of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Evan Haney of Burden, and Colin Haney and wife Grace of Wichita; sisters, Sarah Haney and companion Michael Manga of Winfield; Carolyn Clem of Los Angeles, California, and Margaret “Maggie” Clem of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandparents, Norma Shafer of Coats, and Ronald and Ramona Haney of Garden City.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Marvin Shafer, and a cousin, Greg Larson.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, with family to greet friends from 6-8:00 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 13, 2020, at First Southern Baptist Church, with Reverend Tim Singleton presiding. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend.
