🏃‍♀️ Monarch girls win Ellsworth Invite, Yost, Gottschalk champs

ELLSWORTH – The TMP-Marian girls track and field team had two individual champs along with three second place finishers and won the Ellsworth Invitational Tuesday by four points over second place Sacred Heart. The Monarch boys finished 10th.

Shyanne Yost won the high jump at 4-10. Hoisington freshman Sofia Simic and fellow teammate Tessa Wentling also cleared 4-10 but both missed jumps at 4-8 giving Yost the title. Wentling also missed a jump at 4-10 and finished third.

Shalee Gottschalk won the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.26. Gottschalk was second in the 300 hurdles at 49.22.

Sophomore Anna Cappuccio placed second in the pole vault at 8-6.

Emma Basgall placed second in the long jump with a personal best 16-6.50. Teammate Nevaeh Weigel finished third in the long jump at 16-4.75.

Macara Rohr placed second in the triple jump at 34-1 and was third in the 400 with a personal best time of 1:04.55.

Trego’s Dani Shubert won the discus with a toss of 104-9. Teammate Annabelle Malsom place third at 96-9.

Reece Smith placed third in the 800 with a personal best 2:43.46.

Trego’s Jaryn Windholz won the boys javelin with a personal best toss of 155-9.
