From the Office of Sen. Jerry Moran-R-Kansas

“It was great to meet with local leaders from the City of Hays and Ellis County to discuss issues facing their community, including efforts to modernize and sustain reliable communications for public safety agencies through the replacement of mobile and portable radios and tower equipment upgrades. I also received an update on High Plains Mental Health Center’s Crisis Intervention Center, set to open in May, and its work to advance a proposal of creating a regional behavioral health hub in Hays. We also discussed the City of Hays’ progress on the R9 Ranch Project and their concerns regarding Essential Air Service funding for the Hays Regional Airport.

“Thank you to County Commissioners Neal Younger and Nathan Leiker, Sheriff Scott Braun, County Administrator Darin Myers, Hays Mayor Mason Ruder, City Commissioner David Vilaysing, Deputy City Manager Collin Bielser, Assistant City Manager Jarrod Kuckelman, Brayn Brady with HaysMed, Craig Poe with High Plains Mental Health Center and Sarah Wasinger with the Hays Chamber for making the trip to Washington, D.C. and visiting with me.”
