Carolyn Ann Zerr, 82, died March 18, 2025, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, Ulysses, KS. Carolyn was born in Grinnell, KS on March 24, 1942, to Paul and Amelia (Gross) Rohr. She graduated from Grinnell Rural High School and attended airline school in Omaha, NE.
Carolyn was united in marriage to Gilbert Zerr on April 29, 1961; they were married for 26 years until his death in 1987. She worked as a farmwife/farmer until moving to town in 2006. She enjoyed dancing with Gilbert, bowling, car races, going to auctions, and visiting with family and friends. She was a member of the WaKeeney Eagle Lodge #3774, Sacred Heart Altar Society in Park, Red Hat Society, and the Widows Group in Quinter. Carolyn had a very caring heart and loved to visit, so you would see her volunteering at many events around Quinter.
Carolyn is survived by two sons; Greg (Mary Jo) Zerr and Bruce (Becky) Zerr, both of Ulysses, KS; one sister Darlene Rohr of Oakley, KS; one brother Gerald Rohr of Oakley, KS; four grandchildren, Heather (Trever) Underhill of Blanchard, OK, Megan (Jeff) Banks of Tuttle, OK, Kyle Zerr of Lawrence, KS and Zachary Zerr of Louisburg, KS; four great-grandchildren, Aria and Blaine Banks and Brewer and Kollins Underhill; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her spouse; Gilbert Zerr; her parents Paul and Amelia Rohr; her brother Delmer Rohr and sister Rosemary Werth.
A Vigil Service will be held on Thursday, March 27 at 5:00 p.m. at Schmitt Funeral Home, 901 South Main St., Quinter, KS, with a prayer of Rosary immediately following. Visitation will continue until 7:00 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 202 Cottonwood St., Park, KS, with burial to follow.
