Glenn G. Ginther, 87, of Hays, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021, in his home with his loving family by his side.  Glenn was born May 25, 1934 to George Gust and Ethel Della (Campbell) Ginther in Russell, Kansas.

Glenn graduated from High School in Gorham, Kansas and continued his education at Ft. Hays State earning his BS and MA.  He was also a Professor at Ft. Hays State University’s Industrial Arts Department. He taught wood working, carpentry, wood finishing and upholstery. He was dedicated to his students’ accomplishments and learning, and he took pride in their subsequent successes.

Glenn was united in marriage with Marilyn Ruth Kraus on August 19, 1956, in Russell, KS.

Glenn was an active member of Hays First United Methodist Church for 52 years.  He had a beautiful tenor voice and sang both in the UMC choir and as a solo performer. He also sang in concerts during college and in a men’s quartet which was invited to sing at events throughout the Midwest.

He was a master woodworker and built a cabin at Cedar Bluff Lake as well as almost every piece of furniture in his home.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Ginther; two sons: Gray Ginther and his wife Risa of Austin, TX and Brock Ginther and his wife Sarah of Kansas City, MO; and a sister, Faye Ann Pittman of Hays, KS.  He especially found joy in his three grandchildren, Yui Ginther, Casey Johnston and Regan Johnston. Glenn was preceded in death by both parents and two sisters, Georgia Moore and Fern Radke.

A Memorial Service celebrating Glenn’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Hays First United Methodist Church, 305 W. 7th Street, Hays, KS 67601.  In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions are suggested to Fort Hays State University or Hays First United Methodist Church.  Memories of Glenn and condolences to the family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com.
