NORTON — The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin a resurfacing project on a portion of U.S. 24 in Thomas County the week of July 28.
Project work will involve milling and overlay on 8.5 miles of the highway starting at the east city limits of Colby and ending just east of the U.S. 83 intersection.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the areas where crews are actively working and directed by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should plan for delays of 15 minutes or less during daylight hours.
Project work is expected to be completed in mid-September, conditions permitting.
Bettis Asphalt West Division, of Colby, is the primary contractor for the $1.9 million project. For more information, please contact KDOT Area Construction Manager Todd Anderson at 785-953-6011 or [email protected].
