Another third of an inch of evening rain Tuesday in Hays has helped narrow the moisture deficit for the month.
The official rain amount measured by the K-State Agricultural Center south of town is 0.33 inches.
That puts the total rainfall through May 30 at 3.16 inches, just shy of the average 3.24 inches.
Hays remains behind in moisture for the year, with 6.21 inches measured so far this year. The 157-cumulative average is 7.81 inches of moisture.
The three-day weather forecast calls for a chance of thunderstorms each day through Friday.
