Ross D. Wilson

Ross D. Wilson, born in WaKeeney, Kansas, to bill and Martha Wilson, April 24, 1957, passed away October 12, 2020, at Gove County Medical Center LTC.

He is survived by his son, Brandon Wilson and Stacey Maddox; three grandchildren, Levi, Chevy, and Jase Wilson; long-time friend and companion, Lisa Boatwright; one niece; and nine nephews.  Ross is also survived by his brothers, Jeff Wilson and wife Gwen, Kelly Wilson and wife Marie, Jerry Wilson and Karol Chaffee; and his sisters, Marie and husband Vaughn Marcum, and Rebecca and husband Woody Warren; and long-time family friend Cindy Farr.  Ross was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Martha Wilson and Kay Michellich.

Ross was raised in Trego County and was a long-time member of the Eagles Lodge in WaKeeney.  He spent most of his life working in the oilfield as a driller and roughneck.  He was ornery and fun to be around.  He loved people and telling stories.  He was deeply loved and will be missed by many.  

A memorial service will be 9:30 a.m., Monday, October 26, 2020, at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney.  There will be no visitation as cremation was chosen.
