The Osborne County Sheriff’s Office announced the official retirement of our long-standing Sheriff, Curtis Miner, on Facebook on Monday.
Miner has served the county of Osborne for 32 years and has been a Certified Law Enforcement Officer since 1977.
After completion of the Police Academy, Miner served as the chief of police for the city of Osborne until 1979.
Then Miner moved and was a Coffey County Detective/LT from 1979 to 1984, ultimately moving back to Osborne County and becoming undersheriff from 1984 to 1993, being elected sheriff in 1993 until retiring on Monday.
"We congratulate Curt on a well-deserved retirement and wish him the best. He will be missed in the office, but his years of knowledge will remain. Also want to thank him for all the things he has accomplished and done for this county," the post said.
