Ronald James Detlefsen, 80, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, at his home in Smith Center, KS. 
 Ron was born March 29, 1940, in Socorro, NM, the son of Andrew James 
and Zeta M. (Boudro) Detlefsen.&nbsp; On January 16, 1958, he joined the U.S. 
Navy and was honorably discharged on January 26, 1961.&nbsp; Ron was a past 
member of the VFW and Moose Lodge both of California.&nbsp; He 
was preceded in death by his wife Alice Detlefsen, parents, daughter 
Tina Fritz, brother Andrew Detlefsen and son-in-law Curtis Cole. 
 Ron is survived by a son Ronald (Tina) Detlefsen Jr. of Reno, NV; 
daughter Marcella Cole of Smith Center; two brothers, Tom and Gordon 
Detlefsen of Maxwell, CA; a sister Debbie Jabkonski of Willits, CA; 
seven grandchildren, Ronald (Elizabeth) Detlefsen III, Erica (Corey) 
Sweeney, Sabrina Goodwin, Kassy LaPaille, Mike Romiski Jr., Darrian 
McDonald and DJ Fritz and seven great grandchildren. There 
will not be a public visitation as cremation was chosen.&nbsp; Services will 
be announced at a later date.&nbsp; Memorials may be given to the Ronald 
James Detlefsen Memorial Fund and sent in care of All Faiths Funeral 
Chapel, 113 S. Madison St., Smith Center, KS&nbsp; 66967.
