KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs released their first unofficial depth chart Sunday evening ahead of their preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals on Aug. 9, offering early insight into how the defending Super Bowl champions might shape their 53-man roster.

Though the pecking order remains fluid during training camp, the depth chart revealed a few notable developments—particularly along the offensive and defensive lines.

Perhaps the biggest surprise came on defense, where 2023 first-round draft pick Felix Anudike-Uzomah is listed as the third-string defensive end, behind rookie Ashton Gillotte. Anudike-Uzomah saw rotational snaps as a rookie last season but appears to be battling for playing time early in camp.

On the offensive side, two rookies are currently slated to start in the trenches. Josh Simmons, a first-year offensive tackle, is penciled in at left tackle, while second-round pick Kingsley Suamataia is listed as the starting left guard—replacing veteran Joe Thuney, who had previously held the spot.

The Chiefs and head coach Andy Reid will likely continue to evaluate position battles over the coming weeks as the team prepares for its Aug. 9 matchup in Glendale, Arizona.
