Thomas Kinderknecht

Thomas Kinderknecht, age 77, of Hays, Kansas passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Society, Hays. He was born May 24, 1943 in Kansas City, Kansas to Joseph and Mary (Miller) Kinderknecht. He graduated from Ellis High School in 1961. On August 8, 1964 he married Charlene Klaus.

Thomas was a sanitation worker for the City of Ellis, Kansas. He enjoyed playing pinochle, bowling, “scrapping and junking”, family BBQ’s and collecting Coors memorabilia. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Ellis.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Kinderknecht of Hays; a son, Dennis Kinderknecht of Hays; two daughters, Jackie Lee (Oliver) of Ellis and Michelle Windholz (Matthew) of Ellis; a half-brother, Joe Day of Ellis; a half-sister, Kris Bollig of Hays; five grandchildren, T.J. Lee, Mary Willmes, Christopher Lee, Joseph Kinderknecht and Kathleen Windholz as well as five great grandchildren, Hunter Willmes, Arien Willmes, Autumn Willmes, Elijah Lee and Jayden Alvis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Margaret Smith and Adeline day and a half brother, Leonard Day.

Funeral services will be 10 AM on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ellis.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the ARC Thrift Shop or HaysMed Hospice.
