WABAUNSEE COUNTY— Two people died in an accident just before 11:30a.m. Monday in Wabaunsee County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Jeep Liberty driven by Cheryl A. Martin, 63, Junction City, was eastbound on Interstate 70 at McFarland. The Jeep drifted into the median, struck a culvert and rolled. A 2007 Peterbilt semi driven by Robert Arnold, 53, Hays was entering the Interstate from an entrance ramp and struck the Jeep.
Martin and a passenger Perry A. Martin, 65, Junction City, were prononced dead at the scene and were transported Forensic Medical. Arnold was not injured. Perry Martin was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
