1 hospitalized after car strikes 3 in auto repair garage

LOGAN COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 6p.m. Saturday in Oakley.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Chevy Impala driven by Lillian Ann Martin, 86,  Oakley, was westbound entering the driveway of Mel's Motors, 211 Edgerton Avenue in Oakley.

The driver mistakenly pressed on the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal. The car traveled through the garage door of Mel's Motors and struck three pedestrians.

EMS transported Darra Kay Stithem, 30, Oakley, to the Logan County Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.  Two others Casey Montgomery Moore, 36, and William Micheal Stewart, 26, both of Oakley were not transported for treatment.

Martin was not injured and properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
