David Thomas Trinka, 71, passed away May 3, 2021, at the University Of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus. He was born May 16, 1949 at Hamilton, Ohio, to Ciprian T. & Eleanor (Franklin) Trinka. He married Olivey Padilla August 20, 1978 at Fairfield, Ohio. She died January 16, 2011.
Coming from the Philippines, David has lived in Great Bend for the last year. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the VFW. David loved playing pool, guns, and reading westerns or books by his favorite author, Clive Cussler.
Survivors include, two daughters, Nancy Trinka and Elizabeth Trinka, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Paul Trinka of Hamilton, Ohio; a sister, Carol Trinka-Skolas and husband Steve of Great Bend; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Stephen Trinka.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Ohio. Memorials have been designated to the Wounded Warrior Project, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
