The Fort Hays State men's basketball team is ranked No. 19 in the most recent NABC Top 25 Poll, released on Tuesday. The Tigers moved down five spots after going 1-1 last week and now hold an overall record of 21-6 on the season. This is the fifth-straight NABC poll the Tigers have been in the Top 25. The Tigers slipped out of the D2CSC Top 25 to the receiving votes list in the latest version of that poll.

Fort Hays State has put together three-straight seasons of at least 21 wins. The Tigers have reached 21 wins for the ninth time under head coach Mark Johnson, who is in his 23rd season coaching the program. The Tigers have reached at least 20 wins in 12 of his seasons at the helm. FHSU won 23 games in 2021-22 and 21 in 2022-23. Johnson is on the verge of his 450th win at FHSU, sitting at 449-218 overall leading the Tigers.

This is the 113th time the Tigers have been ranked in the NABC Top 25 during their NCAA Division II history. They are 187-48 all-time when holding an NABC ranking.

Fort Hays State and Northwest Missouri State (No. 6 in both polls) represent the MIAA in both top 25 polls. The Bearcats moved up four spots in both the NABC and D2CSC polls this week.

The Central Region and South Central Region have the most teams in the NABC Top 25, each with five. Seven of the top ten teams in the country are among the two regions. Central Region teams ranked include Minnesota State (No. 3), Northwest Missouri State (No. 6), MSU Moorhead (No. 9), Minnesota Duluth (No. 11), and Fort Hays State (No. 19).

Fort Hays State hosts Nebraska-Kearney on Friday for the regular season finale.
