
Lyle Lynn Luhman, 86, of rural Natoma, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Parkview Care Center in Osborne, Kansas
Lyle was born on October 25, 1938, on the family farm north of Natoma. He was one of six children born to Henry and Alvina (Tatkenhorst) Luhman. He grew up north of Natoma and graduated from Natoma High School in the Class of 1956.
In accordance with his faith in Jesus Christ, he received the gift of Holy Baptism on [Baptism Date] and affirmed his baptismal vows through the Rite of Confirmation on [Confirmation Date].
Lyle was united in marriage to Betty Jo Tier on September 1, 1968, in Norton, Kansas. This union was blessed with three children: Beth, Brian, and Lisa. They made their home on the family farm where he grew up.
Lyle was a farmer and rancher most all his life. He took great pride in his farming and taking care of his livestock. In his spare time, he enjoyed being with family, especially his grandchildren.
Lyle’s surviving family includes his wife of 56 years, Betty Jo of the home; daughters, Beth Luhman of Kansas City, Kansas and Lisa Gruhn (Frederick, Jr.) of Olathe, Kansas; son, Brian Luhman (Charlotte) of Natoma, Kansas; sister, Brenda Price of Salina, Kansas; and four grandchildren, Brianna Gough, Jack Gruhn, Emmett Gruhn, and Keith Gruhn.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Merlin Luhman and Eldon Luhman; and sisters, Byrdene Mason and Bonnie Schlesener.
The funeral service for Lyle will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church of Natoma. Burial will follow at the North Lutheran Cemetery. The family will be present to greet friends on the morning of the service starting at 10:00 a.m. A memorial has been established with Peace Lutheran Church.
