Rosalie (Broughton) Renz

Rosalie (Broughton) Renz, 86, Rush Center, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Rush County Memorial Hospital, La Crosse, Kansas.

Rosalie was born October 4, 1934, in Pratt, Kansas, the daughter of Leonard and Thelma (Parks) Broughton. She attended grade school and junior high school at Hoisington, Kansas, where she graduated in 1952 from Hoisington High School, Hoisington, Kansas. She attended Barton County Community College, Great Bend, Kansas.

She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center, Kansas, serving as a council member for several years. She was a past president of Business & Professional Women (BPW), La Crosse, Kansas, and a senior companion for eleven years at Rush County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care, La Crosse, Kansas. She loved visiting with her clients, playing cards and games, and helping at the Long Term Care.

Rosalie enjoyed attending her Hoisington Cardinals class reunions and keeping up with her many school friends.

Rosalie lived by her faith, never doubting her Lord. She will be missed by many.

In June 1952, she married Steven Price. They later divorced.

On November 24, 1978, she married the love of her life, Harley W. Renz, at Rush Center, Kansas. He preceded her in death November 12, 1997.

Survivors include: two sons, Steven Price, Winfield, Kansas, and Rick Price (Evelyn), Winfield, Kansas; one step son, Patrick Renz, Ellsworth, Kansas, one step daughter, Suzy Renz Kruckenberg, Mooreland, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one brother, Jack E. Broughton, Fort Dodge, Kansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harley W. Renz; one son, Jerry Price; one brother, Bill Broughton; and one sister, Loretta Cunningham French.

Graveside memorial service will be Friday, February 5, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at the Locust Hill Cemetery, Rush Center, Kansas, with Pastor Wayne Baldyga officiating. Inurnment will be in Locust Hill Cemetery, Rush Center, Kansas.

Social distancing is recommended.
