The City of Hays recently announced the recipients of the 2025 Service Awards, recognizing city employees for their tenure and continued commitment to the community.
This year’s honorees span multiple departments, ranging from five years of service to three decades of employment.
Erin Giebler, director of human resources, emphasized the importance of retaining experienced staff to maintain high levels of service for the city.
“The City of Hays is fortunate to have such a dedicated team of professionals,” Giebler said. “We want to thank each of these recipients for their years of service. Their hard work and long-term dedication are essential to the daily operations and success of our community.”
Leading the list of honorees are two employees celebrating 30 years of service: Senior Maintenance Worker Dustin Degenhardt of the Hays Regional Airport and Fire Captain Aaron Dome of the Fire Department.
Two employees were recognized for 25 years of service: Troy Basgall, senior maintenance worker for the Public Works Department (Solid Waste), and John Braun, R9 project manager for the Water Resources Department.
