Howard Nelson Farr

Howard Nelson Farr was born on April 17, 1931, in Oneonta, New York,  the son of Leon John Farr and Florence Lucille (Davis) Farr.  He passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at the Logan Manor in Logan, KS at the age of 89.

He grew up in Milford, NY.  He married Catherin Beams on January 10, 1954, in West Davenport, NY.  He worked as a housekeeper at Mohawk Valley Nursing Home in Ilion, NY.  He served in the 25th infantry division of the US Army, and he was stationed in Japan and Korea.

Survivors include his wife Catherine of Logan, KS; sons Howard Farr of Woodbourne, NY, Charles Farr of Frankfort, NY, and Donald Farr of Oxford, NY; his daughters Catherine Rogers of Livingston Manor, NY, Mary Cunningham of Cedarville, NY, Eleanor Conrad-Farr of Phillipsburg, KS, Janice Smaldone of Frankfort, NY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Leona; brothers Floyd and John; and grandchildren Samantha and Elijah.

Howard was known for his sense of humor and passion for helping others.  His hobbies included gardening, making horseradish, hunting, fishing, and telling stories about the one that got away.

Cremation was planned.  Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2021, at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Randy Garner officiating.
