June Maaske, 90, of Atwood, died at the Good Samaritan Society Atwood on July 13, 2024. She was born Wilma June Finn on August 12, 1933, in Norton, KS, to George and Flora Armstrong Finn. At the age of 47 days, she was adopted by Dewey and Wilma Wills Boatman of Almena, KS. June graduated from Almena High School in 1952. She married Kenneth E Maaske on December 4, 1954. To this union two children were born, Jeri and Mike.
June was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She served on the board of Wheatridge Manor, Atwood. June worked most recently at Duckwalls, Prairie Development Center and along with Ken at different grocery stores.
June was preceded in death by her parents; her adoptive parents; her husband; and a still born child.She is survived by her children Jeri (Duane) Rahe, of Ludell, and Mike (Denise) Maaske, of Atwood; brother Rex (Coralie) Boatman, of Manhattan; sister in law Bobbie Maaske, of Arapahoe, NE; grandchildren, Ryan (Austyn) Maaske, of Atwood and Morgan (Sara) Maaske, of North Platte, NE; three great grandchildren, Aiden, August, and Willa; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friend.
Visitation will be 3-5:00 p.m. Sunday July 21, 2024, at Baalmann Mortuary, Atwood. Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday July 22, 2024, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with inurnment at Immanuel Cemetery, Ludell.
