Anita Louise Bertrand, 82, of Oakley, passed away peacefully at her home,
Tuesday, May 18, 2021. She was born August 24, 1938, in Herndon, KS, to
Edward and Elizabeth (Leitner) Portschi. She graduated from Oberlin
High School in 1956. On November 24, 1956, she married Gene Bertrand.
Anita was a member of Oakley Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gene; brother Eldon Portschi, and sister Betty Jones.
Anita is survived by her children, Pam and Ewing Evans, of Manhattan,
KS, Kevin and Gina Bertrand, of San Clemente, CA, and Brent and Shilea
Bertrand, of Wallace, KS; eight grandchildren; fourteen great
grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m. Monday May 24, 2021, at Baalmann Mortuary,
Oakley. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at
the Oakley Christian Church, with burial in the Oakley City Cemetery.
