Albert T. Walt, age 86, passed away at Cedar Village Long Term Care, Ness City, Kansas, on October 17, 2020.

Albert was born on Feburary 18, 1934 on the family farm near Collyer, Kansas, the son of Leocadia Kuntz and Antone Walt.

Albert attended Banner grade school, went on to graduate from St. Joseph's Military Academy (Thomas More Prep-Marian Jr./Sr. High School) Seminarian Class of 1952. Attended College at Ft. Hays State University.

Albert served in the US ARMY from March 1954 to March 1956

October 12, 1959, he married the love of his life Alberta A. Zimmerman who proceeded him in death on May 21, 2014.

Albert and Alberta made Utica, KS home from 1961 – 1996 where he worked at Utica Grain Inc.

In 1996 they made the move to Ness City Ks., Albert continued to work at Utica Grain Inc. until his retirement in 1998.

Albert was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus member.

Albert enjoyed going to polka dances with Alberta, fishing, hunting and never missed a chance to be at his children and grandchildren’s ball games. He spent countless nights on the porch listening to the Royals on the radio no matter how bad they were at the time. He was a caring and loving man and he will be missed greatly by the family and friends he has left behind.

Survivors include his sons, Tom Walt, Utica, KS, and Rodney (Traci) Walt, Lee Summit, MO; daughters, Bonnie Von Lintel, Elkhart, KS, Connie Schwindt, Ness City, KS, Judy (Marty) Klitzke, Ness City, Brenda (Craig) Stoecklein, Hays, KS, and Debbie (Mike) Bollinger, Durango, CO; brother Lavern Walt; grandchildren, Andrew Von Lintel, Matthew (Aubrey) Von Lintel, Katisha (Grant) Wiegers, Melissa (Daniel) Brandt – Von Lintel, Robby (Tala) Schwindt, Eric (Tomara) Schwindt, Dillon (Alix) Schwindt, Chelsea (Jeremy) Lickteig, Kristen Klitzke, Macie Stoecklein, Ryan Stoecklein, Devin (Paige) Bollinger, Kylie (Ryan) Kasprzyk, Zachary Pitts, Sadye Mullins, and Zeven Walt; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Lexi, Asher and Traven Schwindt. Sophia and Luca Schwindt. SammiJo, Jordi and Titus Wiegers, Gavin and Eli Von Lintel. Zaden Pitts. Kolbe Lickteig. Autumn Jackson, Abby Agers and Denver Bollinger.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Edna Arnold, Louise Porter and Infant brother Joseph Walt; son-in-law, Sam Von Lintel; and grandson, Blake Stoecklein.

Public viewing will be Tuesday Oct 20 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Fitzgerald Funeral Home in Ness City.

A Private Rosary will be held for the family.

A Private Mass of Christian burial will be at Sacred Heart Church for the family. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
