HAYS, Kan. — Fort Hays State Women's Soccer fell 2-0 to Central Oklahoma on Friday night at FHSU Soccer Stadium. UCO scored both goals in the first half, moving to 3-4-4 overall for the season and 1-2-2 in the MIAA. Fort Hays State moved to 2-7-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the MIAA.
Central Oklahoma capitalized on their early chances to build a lead. Both teams took five shots in the first half, but UCO found the net twice. Caleah Carter notched the first goal off an assist from Rebekah George in the 18th minute. Jordan Tanges had a stick back for a goal off an initial shot by Carter, who picked up an assist on the score in the 32nd minute.
Fort Hays State had a few solid offensive chances in the second half, but could not find a way to cut into the UCO lead. Both teams took five shots again in the second half and the final tally stood at 10-10. FHSU goalkeeper Hadley Ostrander had three saves, while UCO goalkeeper Avery Bass had one. Sydney Cotter led FHSU with three shots, while Carter took four to lead UCO.
