Janis Loretta (Moore) Elfers

Janis Loretta (Moore) Elfers, age 85, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021 at Prairie Senior Living Complex in Colby, KS.

Janis was born April 22, 1936 to Clyde E. and Eula M. (Stucker) Moore in Goodland, Kansas.  She grew up and lived in Edson where she graduated from Edson Consolidated School in 1954.  Janis married Dale LeRoy Elfers of Logan, OK on November 19, 1960 and had 4 children together Roy Lee, Victoria Lynn, Infant Son and Barbara Ann.  Janis worked as  secretary for the Edson Consolidated School and served as their secretary for the Edson Alumni Committee, she also worked at the Sherman County ASC office in Goodland, also secretary for Clyde Moore Grain Company in Edson which was owned and operated by her father Clyde Moore for many years and bookkeeper for Farris Manufacturing in Goodland until she retired in 2016.   Janis was a member of the United Methodist Church in Goodland.  She enjoyed reading books, gardening, cooking and baking for her family (especially her famous Frog Eye Salad and her Mother's Famous Cupcakes) and watching her favorite TV shows NCIS and Blue Bloods as well as  Crusin’ Main, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

Janis was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; daughter, Victoria Lynn; and her infant son. 

She is survived by her son, Roy Lee Elfers of Colby, daughter, Barbara Ann and husband David Sayyae of Topeka, grandchildren, Zachary Elfers of Newton, Joshua Tucker of Hesston and his 2 sons Janis's great grandsons Shawn and Owen Tucker, and Emily Elfers of Guthrie, OK. and many more family and friends.
