🥎 Monarchs stay unbeaten with sweep of Ellis

ELLIS – The TMP-Marian softball team remained unbeaten after picking up a pair of wins over Ellis Tuesday. The Monarchs win by scores of 11-0 and 17-1 and are now 12-0 on the season.

The Monarchs host Pratt-Skyline next Tuesday.

Game 1: TMP-Marian 11, Ellis 0 (5 innings)
Bria Windholz went 4-for-4 and drove in three runs. Windholz singled in the second, third and fourth innings and doubled in the fifth.

Brynn Rebel struck out 11 batters and allowed only one hit with three walks to pick up the win.

The Monarchs opened the scoring with a run in the second after a wild pitch. They added four in the top of the third inning after Paige Koenigsman doubled down the left field line, Windholz singled to center field, Molly Helget singled to the left side of the infield, and Adi Gottschalk walked, each scoring one run.

Chloe Gillespie had the line hit for Ellis.

Game 2: TMP-Marian 17, Ellis 1 (5 innings)
Brynn Schoepf and Brynn Rebel both had three hits and drove in four as the Monarchs scored 17 runs on 17 hits to complete the sweep. Schoepf had an RBI single in the first, two-run double in the second and an RBI triple in the fifth. Rebel added a two-run double in the second and RBI triple in the third.

Thomas More Prep-Marian scored eight runs on eight hits in the top of the second inning. Raegan Allen singled, scoring a run, Molly Helget doubled, scoring a run, Schoepf doubled, scoring two runs, Brynn Rebel doubled, scoring two runs, Paige Koenigsman singled, scoring one run, and Bria Windholz singled, scoring one run.

The Monarchs added seven runs on six hits in the top of the fifth inning. They scored the first run on an error, Schoepf and Rebel both added an RBI triple, Koenigsman, Adi Gottschalk added RBI singles. TMP scored another run on a Brynlee Gerber ground out. Katie Herrman rounded out the scoring with an RBI double.

Windholz earned the win giving up the one run on five hits over five innings with eight strikeouts and two walks.
