A Hays man was charged with alleged rape of a mentally deficient victim on May 27.
Hays Deputy Police Chief Tim Greenwood said 23-year-old Jonathan Allen Tate is the alleged suspect. He was booked into the Ellis County Jail.
Greenwood said the case is still under investigation. No additional information was provided.
