Driver hospitalized after rear-end crash on Interstate 70

GOVE COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 2:30p.m. Tuesday in Gove County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Kenworth semi driven by Cody Roy, 40, Lenora, was westbound on Interstate 70 approximately one and one half miles east of the Old 40 Highway exit.

The semi rear-ended a 2020 Nissan Leaf driven by James  Boyd, 50,  Denver, Colorado, who had slowed down.  After impact the Nissan entered the north ditch and rolled onto its top.

EMS transported Boyd to the Gove County Hospital. Roy was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
