TOPEKA – The Kansas State High School Activities Association has released the Sub-State pairings for Saturday. Hays High will be the five-seed and take on Salina South in the Kapaun Mt. Carmel Sub-State in Wichita. The Indians enter the postseason at 25-10 while the Cougars are 20-16. The match will start at 2 p.m. The Indians lost 25-16, 15-25, 19-25) when they faced Salina South during the regular season.
TMP-Marian will travel to Medicine Lodge and play MCL rival Oakley. The Monarchs split with the Plainsman during the regular season, losing in two in Oakley (25-27, 25-27) then winning in two in the MCL Tournament (25-16, 26-24).
Quinter will host a Class 1A Division I Sub-State and open with Hill City. Ellis and Decatur Community play in the other semifinal match.
Victoria will host their own 1A Division II Sub-State and open with Wallace County. Wheatland-Grinnell and Western Plains are the other two teams there.
