DODGE CITY - The TMP-Marian softball team ran their winning streak to eight games with a doubleheader sweep over Dodge City Friday. The Monarchs won 13-1 and 12-3 and is now 11-3 on the season.
Game 1: TMP-Marian 13, Dodge City 1 (6 innings)
The Monarchs scored seven runs in the top of the third then added two in the fourth and four in the sixth.
Hannah Garcia and Jaci VonLintel both had three hits. VonLintel tripled and drove in four runs. Karli Komarek added two hits in drove in three runs.
Maddie Augustine (8-3) allowed one unearned run on four hits with eight strikeouts and no walks for the win.
Game 2: TMP-Marian 12, Dodge City 3
The Monarchs used a six-run sixth to break open a tie game. they then added three in the seventh for insurance.
Hannah Garcia had four of TMP's 15 hits.
Maddie Augustine (9-3) allowed two earned runs on four hits with four strikeouts and a walk for the complete game victory.
