Former Logan, KS resident “Sonny” Lawrence F. Ruff of Holyoke, CO passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020, at the Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke at the age of 84.
He was born March 5, 1936, in Logan, KS the son of Herman “Richard” and Jenny M. (Gottbredt) Ruff. He was an US Army Veteran, a Firefighter and a Blacksmith.
Sonny was united in marriage to Ruby I. Shockley on November 2, 1956, at Logan, KS. She preceded him in death in 2013.
Survivors include a son Richard Ruff of Logan; a daughter Sheila Gift of Holyoke, CO; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 27, 2020 at the Logan Christian Church, Logan, KS with Pastor Gary Rahe officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Logan. Services will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook Page.
Sonny will lie in state from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday with the family receiving friends for visitation from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. that evening at the Logan Funeral Home, 102 E. Church St., Logan, KS 67646.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Logan Fire Department.
