INDIANAPOLIS - The Fort Hays State women's basketball team enters the final week of the regular season ranked 10th in the NCAA Division II Central Region rankings, announced Wednesday by the national office. The Tigers are one of six MIAA programs ranked in the top 10 in the region.
The Tigers are 19-10 on the year, including a 17-10 record against Division II opponents and a 17-9 in-region record. Fort Hays State has played the toughest strength-of-schedule in the region at .564.
Fort Hays State has been selected to play in each of the last five regional championships and in seven of the last eight tournaments. FHSU has been the top overall seed in the region four times over the last eight years and has played in a trio of regional finals.
Fort Hays State's final regular season opponent, Nebraska-Kearney, tops the region rankings. The Tigers and Lopers will wrap up the regular season Saturday (Feb. 25) at 2 p.m. before traveling to Kansas City for the 2023 MIAA Championship Tournament, presented by Southern Bank next week.
