BUHLER – The Hays Senior Eagles blew out the Topeka Senators 12-0 then rallied late to knock off the Topeka Scrappers 3-2 Saturday to earn the No. 1 seed entering bracket play at the Bob Hooper Showcase.
The Eagles (6-0) open bracket play against the Great Bend Chiefs Sunday at 1 p.m. The Chiefs (5-3) beat the Wichita Aeros 7-5 and the Hutchinson Colts 4-3 in pool play.
Eagles 12, Topeka

Brock Lummus and Colby Dreiling both had three hits. Lummus homered
and tripled and drove in five runs. He drove in the game's first run with a first inning single. His two-run homer in the fourth
pushed the lead to 6-0. Lummus' two-run triple in the fifth made it 9-0.
Garrett Wellbrock, Dalton Dale and Keatyn Barnett combined on a two-hit shutout. Wellbrock allowed one hit with two strikeouts and a walk over the first two innings and picked up the win. Dale pitched two scoreless innings of relief followed by Barnett who struck out three in the fifth.

Josh Haynes two-out single to right scored Carson Jacobs to break a 2-2
tie. Brady Kreutzer then came in and worked a 1-2-3 seventh to move the Eagles
to 2-0 in pool play.
After falling behind 2-0, the eagles scored two in the bottom of the fourth on a Carson Jacobs single.
Colby Dreiling allowed two unearned runs on four hits over 5 1/3 innings for the win. Kreutzer picked up the save.
