
SHERMAN COUNTY —Two people were injured in two separate accidents blamed on icy roads Sunday afternoon in Sherman County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Jeep Liberty driven by Liliana Macias, 22, Scott City, was westbound on Interstate 70 just east of the St. Francis exit just before 3p.m.
Due to icy road conditions the driver lost control of the vehicle. The jeep entered the median, struck the guardrail and rolled.
Just after 3p.m. Sunday, a 2010 Ford passenger vehicle driven by Randal Bryan Crawford, 45, Grove, OK., was eastbound on Interstate 70 just past the Kansas State line.
The vehicle hit a slick spot. The driver lost control of the vehicle. It struck the guardrail and came to rest in the median.
EMS transported Macias and a passenger in the Ford John Randal Crawford, 18, Grove, OK., to the hospital in Goodland. Randal Crawford was not injured. All three were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
