2 hospitalized after 2-vehicle north-central Kansas crash

SMITH COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 5p.m. Wednesday in Smith County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Ford F150 driven by Boycken Sinauleni, 37, Lebanon, was eastbound on U.S. 36 four miles west of Kansas 8.

The driver lost traction on the icy roads. The pickup crossed the center line and struck a westbound 2006 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Tyler J. Morrish, 23, Kensington.

A westbound 2010 Kia Soul driven by Austin D. Doxey, 26, Kensington, struck took boxes that were thrown onto the highway from the pickup.

EMS transported Sinauleni and Morrish to Smith County Hospital. Doxey was not injured. All three drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
