Phyllis Jean Schniepp, age 92, passed away October 9, 2025, at Cedar Village Care Center in Ness City, Kansas. She was born on February 6, 1933, in Wichita, Kansas, to Delbert and Esther Dreasher. Upon her mother’s passing at the age of three, Phyllis and her sister JoAnn were adopted and lovingly raised by her Uncle Warren and Aunt Grace in Bazine, Kansas.
On June 3, 1951, Phyllis married Glenn Schniepp. Together, they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage and raised four sons on their family farm in Bazine. Together they owned and operated two businesses - Schniepp Construction and Schniepp Grain where Phyllis served as bookkeeper for both businesses. Phyllis and Glenn were devoted members of the Bazine United Methodist Church, where they sang together in the choir. They were also part of a Praise Team, offering music for many services, celebrations, and funerals.
Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She found joy in preparing delicious meals for her family, tending to her gardens, spending time with her grandchildren, and caring for her beloved cats.
She is survived by her four sons: Larry (Belinda) Schniepp of Shenandoah, Iowa; Terry (Colleen) Schniepp and Marlin (Billie H.-Schniepp) Schniepp, both of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; and Charles Schniepp of Bazine. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Robert Schniepp of Madison, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Schniepp; her parents, Delbert and Esther Dreasher; and sister, JoAnn Rein and infant grandsons Travis and Dalton Schniepp.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at the Ness City Methodist Church, Ness City, KS, 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Ness City Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5-7 p.m.
