🏀Hays’ Weimer and Ruder earn All-State honors

After helping to lead the Hays High Indians to the Western Athletic Conference title this past season, senior Jack Weimer and sophomore Dawson Ruder were named to the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association (KBCA) 5A All-State team.

Weimer, who was also named the Player of the Year in the WAC, averaged 12.7 pointers per game along with 4.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.

He was a second team 5A KBCA All-State selection.

Sophomore Dawson Ruder earned a KBCA honorable mention selection.

Ruder averaged 13.7 points per game this past season with 6.8 rebounds.

The Indians finished the year 13-8 and 7-1 in the WAC.

Three area boys were also named to the 1A-D1 All-State teams.

Osborne’s Jonny Hamel, La Crosse’s Caden Morgan and Shea Salyers from Quinter were all named to the 1A-D1 second team.
