Betty L. Schneweis, 88, died October 2, 2020, in Odin, Kansas. She was born November 30, 1931, in Pawnee Rock, Kansas, the daughter of William and Ina (Fry) Dooling. Betty attended Larned High School.
She was married to Charles Edward Walker from 1951 to 1971. She then married Arthur F. Schneweis on November 19, 1971, in St. John, Kansas.
Betty and her husband Art were both self employed telephone contractors. They were both very patriotic and would always be at the veteran’s services, where she would often assist with the playing of taps.
Betty was a member of the Church of Christ in Great Bend. For a time she lived in Texas where she was a member of the Horticulture Club and would judge floral shows. She was very artistic and a good seamstress. Betty was also an avid animal lover, she loved all animals and especially doted on her fur babies.
Survivors include; her husband of nearly 49 years, Arthur F. Schneweis; son, Bruce Walker; daughters, Pat Anderson and husband Andy, and Lynnda Kirbow and husband Jeff; and three great grandchildren, Nathan, Heaven, and Brent.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Walker; infant son, Dereck John Walker, and granddaughter, Krystle Leigh.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, with family to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at Church of Christ, Great Bend, with Carl Feril presiding. Burial will follow in Larned Cemetery.
